What is MOCA and ClariVein®?
Vein Care Medical Center offers the very newest in Mechanochemical Ablation (MOCA) technologies. We’re happy to utilize ClariVein®, which is the marriage of two distinct approaches: a.) the mechanical destruction of the vein, and b.) sclerosing agent application to the vein. This advanced procedure treats bulging varicose veins while addressing the underlying causes. ClariVein® incorporates a specialized catheter with a unique rotating tip, which is two to three times more thin than traditional devices used in both laser and radiofrequency ablation.
All ClariVein® requires is just one small point of entry in the skin. ClariVein® uses ultrasound imaging of the veins and can be performed using nothing more than a local anesthetic, the entire procedure lasting only 30 minutes in most cases.
ClariVein® at Vein Care Medical Center offers unique advantages to our valued patients:
- No tumescent anesthesia required
- Relatively painless, little or no discomfort during procedure or thereafter
- No bruising or pain
- Heating of the vein and tumescent anesthesia are not required; only local anesthesia is utilized at the insertion site.
Mechanochemical Ablation, when incorporated with ClariVein®, has a uniquely high success rate, resulting in veins that are completely occluded nearly 9 times out of 10. Vein Care Medical Center will also give patients the follow-up care and attention they need post-procedure to ensure results can be enjoyed on the long term.
